The Indian Super League (ISL) is the men’s top-level football league in the Indian football system. It is arranged by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and their partner Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL). It is also called Hero Indian Super League. The league currently has 11 clubs. Each season’s tournament runs from November to March. Further, each club plays against all the other clubs in a round-robin style. Initially, the competition was founded on 21 October 2013. Jonathas Cristian de Jesus was born on 6 March 1989. He is also known as Jonathas. He is a Brazilian football player who plays as a striker for the Indian Super League club Odisha. Throughout his career, he played top-flight football in his country. He recorded figures of 61 matches and 21 goals in La Liga for Elche and Real Sociedad. Further, Jonathas played in Cruzeiro’s youth teams and a few times in the senior team. Further, he was loaned out to Ipatinga and Villa Nova.  He was signed by Dutch Eredivisie champions, AZ Alkmaar in October 2008. Jonathas de Jesus started his playing career for AZ on 28 October 2009, in the KNVB Cup match against Spakenburg.

Initially, he played his first league match away to Roda JC on 21 November.  Jonathas de Jesus moved teams and countries again, joining Brescia Calcio in a one-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee on 1 February 2011. Initially, he played in six matches during his debut campaign, as the Biancoazzurri were relegated from Serie A. Further, he scored 16 goals in the 2011–12 Serie B, the team’s top scorer. Indian Super League side Odisha FC signed him on 10 Sept 2021 for a two-year term ahead of their 2021–22 campaign. He started playing for the club on 24 November in a 3–1 win over Bengaluru FC. Adrian Luna was born on 12 April 1992. He is an Uruguayan football player who plays as a midfielder for the ISL club Kerala Blasters. Luna started playing his youth career at the academies of Progreso, Montevideo Wanderers, and Defensor Sporting in Uruguay. He joined the Defensor’s U-19 and first team in 2010. Luna started playing with Defensor Sporting, on 6 February 2010. He was a regular starter for Defensor in the 2010–11 season. Luna played 41 matches for the Uruguayan club and scored 6 goals. He signed a contract with La Liga club Espanyol, with a €1 million fee on 23 May 2011. Luna was loaned to Segunda Division club Gimnastic on 17 August 2011. Further, he returned to Espanyol in January 2012 and signed a contract with CE Sabadell, in a six-month loan. 

His contract with Espanyol was rescinded on 2 September 2013. Further, he returned to Defensor on 18 September 2013 and stayed at the club for two seasons. Kerala Blasters announced on 22 July 2021 that Luna had joined the Indian Super League club on a two-year deal. Initially, he started playing for the club on 11 September 2021 against the Indian Navy in the 2021 Durand Cup tournament. Luna scored from a penalty and became the club’s first-ever goalscorer in Durand Cup. He helped the Blasters to register their first victory of the season against Odisha FC on 5 December 2021. Luna scored his league debut goal in the Blasters’ victory over rivals Chennaiyin FC on 22 December.  He scored his second goal in the match against FC Goa on 2 January 2022.

Adnan Hugo Boumous was born on 24 July 1995. He is a French-Moroccan football player who plays as an attacking midfielder for ISL club ATK Mohun Bagan. Boumous graduated from the youth academy of Laval and started playing with the reserves in 2013. He signed his first contract with the club in May 2015 and was promoted to the senior team. He started playing his first team match on 22 May 2015.  Boumous moved abroad and joined the Moroccan Botola club Moghreb Tetouan on 20 July 2016. He switched clubs and countries and joined the Indian Super League franchise FC Goa on 2 February 2018. Two days later, he played against NorthEast United FC.

He scored his first goal in a 1–1 draw against Delhi Dynamos on 22 February. In 2019-20, he was the youngest foreign player, and he received the player of the tournament award in ISL-6.  Initially, Boumous signed for Mumbai City FC on a two-year deal On 17 October 2020. Further, he signed for ATK Mohun Bagan FC on a 5-year deal on 8 July 2021 for a record transfer fee of $280,000 breaking the record set by him in the previous season. Further, he started playing for Mohun Bagan in the 2021–22 season opener against Kerala Blasters on 19 November. Boumous was called up to the Morocco under-23 football team for a friendly match against Cameroon in May 2016.

Jorge Pereyra Diaz was born on 5th August 1990. He is an Argentine football player who plays as a striker for the ISL club Kerala Blasters. Initially, he began his playing career with the Primera B Nacional club. Further, on 5th March 2013, he signed with Lanus. He started his debut on 13th April 2013. On April 17, he participated in a Copa Argentina match against Atletico Rafaela. Further, on 26th November 2020, he signed for Chilean club San Marcos for the 2020 Primera B de Chile season. After then he signed for the Argentine Primera Division club Platense on 11th Feb 2021. Again, on 27th August 2021, he joined the Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters on a season-long loan. Initially, he started his debut on 19 November in the 2021–22 season against ATK Mohun Bagan FC.

Alan Costa was born on 30th October 1990. He is a Brazilian professional football player. He plays as a defender for the Indian Super League club Bengaluru. In July 2021, he shifted to ISL. Thereafter, he debuted for the club on 15 August in a 1–0 win over Maldivian. He later appeared in all three group stage matches against ATK Mohun Bagan. Initially, he started his ISL debut on 20 November against NorthEast United FC in a 4–2 win. Further, he scored his first league goal in the next match against Odisha FC on 24 November, but they lost by 3–1.
